Emily and Christopher’s love story began their sophomore year of college when a mutual friend introduced them; a friend that would actually go on to officiate their wedding!
Of all the things that Emily loves about Christopher, she especially loves that he can always make her laugh.
Sometimes we are like kids together. He’s also smart, hard working, and always makes me feel loved.
Christopher’s favorite things about Emily include how caring, loving, and supportive she is.
To pinpoint a time when Emily knew Christopher was the one is hard for her because there were many small things along the way that made her sure of the two of them.
Definitely when we spent a weekend up at my family’s cabin. With my very large family, he fit right in. We also got second place in a bags tournament that weekend so I knew we made a great team!
For the proposal, Christopher sent Emily on a scavenger hunt.
Each location I went to, a different family member was there to do something special with me. He was at my last stop at the Morton Arboretum! Afterwards, my family and best friend were waiting for us at a pizza place to eat and celebrate! It was perfect.
Christopher and Emily were in awe the first time they saw The Haight, even when it was totally bare without all the florals, linens, and décor.
The venue is just absolutely beautiful—in such a simple way! We also loved the girls we met who worked there and could tell they really cared about making every wedding special.

Out of the many moments from the wedding day, Emily’s favorite was right after walking back up the aisle, finally married, and going to the bridal suite with the bridal party and immediate family.
There were drinks up there waiting for us and we all just celebrated such an amazing moment of finally being married! It was such a high and to be able to soak in that moment with our loved ones was really special!
Emily’s advice for newly engaged couple is to really experience every moment of the wedding day.
Everyone will tell you that it all goes by so fast, but it really does. Our wedding day lasted a whole two minutes in my mind—do everything you can to slow down and soak it all in!
