Mary and Joelle when to Huntley High School together, but didn’t start dating until about two years after graduation. She knew he was the one when he volunteered to attend family parties without even asking!
My family fell in love with him, probably quicker than I did!
Joelle proposed to Mary in Punta Cana on their first vacation together.
It was early morning on the beach, I was totally surprised.
When it came to finding a venue to celebrate their wedding, Mary and Joelle did not want the same old church and reception vibe.
We wanted it to be a party in a different venue that people would be blown away by. I think we knew walking into The Haight with all the different sculptures and furniture we were in the right place.
Everyone we spoke with after the wedding had nothing but great things to say about the venue we decided on. We already knew that going in but it was very cool to hear it from our guests. All the girls there did such a great job, especially Lauren. We couldn’t have gotten through the day without her! It’s not very common you get such great attentive help that the venue provides!
Mary’s favorite part of the day was the ceremony.
You could feel the amount of love in the room. It was really something special. Cheers and tears; so many emotions.
Also our final song Bohemian Rhapsody, we had a very loud sing along and I don’t think anyone will ever forget it!
Mary’s advice for newly engaged couples, planning their wedding is to enjoy your engagement!
Don’t rush to plan! Also take the help when it’s offered. Wedding planning is exhausting and can be overwhelming when people offer to help, I suggest taking it. And do your research on your vendors! Help/Knot/WeddingWire, if they aren’t listed on two of the three websites, move on to someone different!
