Cassandra and Frank first met in high school, but that isn’t where they fell for each other. They each dated other people throughout high school and didn’t reconnect until a year after they graduated. They started dating and it didn’t take long for them to realize they were meant to be! When Frank met Cassandra’s “big, crazy” family, she didn’t expect him to get along with them so well—but he did and they ended up loving him! It was then, when Frank became part of the family, that she knew she wanted to marry him.
“Relationships are always stronger when you are best friends first, and a couple second.” This quote may describe these two perfectly. They are both one another’s best friend. Cassandra loves that Frank prioritizes their relationship and both of their families.
I love that he genuinely cares for people and is very selfless.
Her favorite things about him include his talents in the kitchen (he makes a great steak), his amazing homemade cards and when he sings and plays guitar for her (SWOON).
Frank, in turn, has just as many favorites about Cassandra. He loves her heart and that she doesn’t think twice about helping someone in need. He even loves her horribly funny jokes!
She is always laughing at herself which in turn makes me laugh.
Franks loves that she is always putting someone first.
She’s beautiful inside and out.
On July 28th, 2016, Cassandra would be asked one of the most important questions in her life. Frank took her to the place of their first date; there she noticed that he hardly ate anything at dinner. His response? Late lunch. After dinner he asked Cassandra if she would like to go for a walk and she said sure. Just as the sun was starting to set, Frank said, “Why don’t we walk around Willow Creek because we won’t be able to walk at a forest preserve for much longer with the sun going down.” Cassandra agreed and off they went to Willow Creek. As they were walking they went down a beautiful path with cut branches and candles leading up to a blanket right next to the pond. It was here that Frank asked Cassandra to spend the rest of her life with him and she said yes!
It was beautiful and romantic.
Cassandra and Frank chose The Haight for their venue because they loved the style of it.
“We loved the exposed brick and that it didn’t need too many decorations because it had a simplistic beauty about it.”
Cassandra’s favorite part of their wedding day was when they said their vows to each other. She’s so happy that they wrote their own and will have them forever!
Her advice for newly engaged couples planning their big day is to slow down and enjoy the wedding planning! Remember that everything doesn’t have to be the most expensive or the most fancy.
“Frank and I had Portillos catered for our wedding and we think that was one of our best decisions for the wedding! So many people told us how much they loved it. And you could tell that they did because we actually ran out of food!”
