Rebecca and Adam’s love story began with the encouragement of a mutual patient they had while working at the same hospital—Adam, a nurse and Rebecca, a music therapist. The patient insisted that Adam needed to take Rebecca out, and sure enough, Adam listened and a relationship blossomed!
There are many things that Adam loves about Rebecca, but his favorite things include the confidence she has in herself and her unwavering character—an attribute he finds very rare. He also loves how honest she is in all things and the way she values family, a trait they both share. Rebecca loves that Adam values his faith and despite being lighthearted and goofy, he is very driven and hard working.
For Rebecca there was no single moment that solidified her knowing Adam was the one.
“Falling in love is a progression of experiences that beckons trust, confidence and commitment.”
It was on their first vacation to Lake Geneva, WI, that this realization came together in a real way for her.
The proposal was private, which is exactly what Rebecca wanted. It was August 2016 and their annual summer trip to Lake Geneva where they planned to stay at their usual boutique bed and breakfast. Adam snuck up there early to prepare for this special moment in the place that means so much to the both of them! He had planned for the proposal to take place on a private pier on the lake, but the weather had different plans. But no bad weather could stop Adam! He had the proposal moved indoors and when they arrived, the room was decorated beautifully. When Adam got down on one knee, Rebecca had only one answer—“YES!”
The Haight had Rebecca’s attention from the first moment she saw pictures on Facebook. With it’s unique features and character, the venue stood out and had the look and feel that blended perfectly with Adam and Rebecca’s style. With one tour, their wedding location was set!
It was the “first look” that was the best part of the day for Rebecca.
“It was such a special moment that we were able to share prior to the ceremony.”
Rebecca loved the anticipation leading up to him turning around and seeing her in the dress it was exactly what she hoped it would be!
The two of them loved seeing their vision of the perfect wedding come together and being able to celebrate their marriage with family and friends made it an incredible day!
When asked what advice they have for newly engaged couples, Rebecca provided four important points:
1. Know your budget and stay on budget.
2. Design you wedding to reflect who you are.
3. Be flexible and don’t sweat the small stuff (something is bound to go wrong).
4. Don’t lose sight of what the day is all about, it’s about you and your spouse, not anyone else.
