Angela and Jake met online and found out quickly they had A LOT in common, it isn’t everyday you meet another tri-athlete. They also attended the same church. They arranged for their first date to be after a Saturday service on March 14, 2015. They became friends and began training for upcoming races together, Jake was competing in the Ironman that fall. As they spent more time together Angela realized she was ready to date and Jake was a great fit for her!
Jake proposed on Christmas Eve while they were exchanging gifts. His gift to her was wooden ornaments with the words “Will you marry me?” on them. Of course, Angela said yes and they had exciting news to share with their families on Christmas Day!
I worked very hard planning the wedding and the decorations on my own. There was no wedding planner, friends, or family helping me with the planning, purchasing and creating of everything from decorations to drinks. So, that day it was amazing to see it all come together… and I was thrilled that I didn’t have to set it up. It was so nice to sit back and watch all that I had worked on be set up throughout The Haight. All my stress was gone and all the planning was over and now I could enjoy the day. I made several spreadsheets and instructions for the staff and a few friends to help with the set up. Everyone at The Haight, the caterer and a few friends did all the work. WHAT A BLESSING. I was so grateful I could enjoy the day and not worry about a thing. The Haight staff was incredible and worked hard to make sure everything was in place and taken care of. They even helped in the evening to pack up all the wedding decor. “
As you read up above Angela is a planner and she thinks everyone getting married should be too! We know from experience she is right. She suggests contacting other brides to borrow or purchase pieces instead of buying them or renting them at full price. Angela also advises setting timelines for yourself and staying organized with spreadsheets! All that organization paid off for her and she was able to relax on her wedding day and she believes all brides should be able to do the same thing. Be grateful and take time to enjoy your day!
