Emily and Daniel were married at St. John’s in Elgin and held their reception at The Haight on September 9, 2016. They met while out with friends at Joe’s on Weed St. in Chicago, Emily caught his eye and Daniel worked his way through the crowd to get her number. They made plans to go mini golfing on their first date where Daniel beat Emily by one point!
Flash forward to Christmas morning 2015 (Emily’s favorite holiday). The two of them had the house decorated to the nines, christmas pajamas, and christmas music all set for the exchanging of gifts that morning. Daniel opened gifts first then handed Emily her stocking (he had already booked a trip to Punta Cana for NYE) in the stocking were framed pictures of the two of them as well as the score card from their first date. He still wont let her forget that he beat her! Under the scorecard was a little box wrapped in plaid paper and as she opened it he got down on one knee to propose!
Emily had so much fun she couldn’t pick out her favorite part of the day but she narrowed it down to a few!
Seeing Daniel at the end of the aisle waiting for her.
All of the laughter she shared with her mom, bridesmaids, and nephew while getting ready that morning.
Having her kindergarteners at the ceremony (she is a teacher and they are still talking about it!).
Their get-a-way vehicle being her grandpa’s 1930 Ford Model A, the same one her parent’s left their wedding in!
How could she pick one part when everyone she loves was celebrating her and Daniel!
Emily and Daniel wanted a space that was different then a traditional ballroom style wedding venue as well as something they could make their own, and they did!
They took DIY to the next level! Inspired by our custom built 16 foot long farm house tables Emily put their families to work!
Daniel’s uncle hosted family and friends at his farm to make Emily’s dreams come true. Daniel, along with Emily’s dad built 5 tables and the rest of the family built 17! Together they built TWENTY-TWO farmhouse tables that were each 8 feet long! The day before the wedding a team of family and friends loaded in the tables and put them back together on site at The Haight. Emily and Daniel now have one in their home that is a constant reminder of how lucky they are to have had so many people help make their wedding dreams a reality.
In addition to the BEAUTIFUL tables they also built custom flower boxes for Town and Country Gardens to fill with flowers for their centerpieces.
